Since its launch, Hobbyverse has been a hub for tracking TV Shows, Movies, and Board Games. From day one, one request has stood out: adding support for a reading hobby. It’s something I’ve been eager to include ever since I started working on Hobbyverse, and today, I’m thrilled to announce that Reading is finally here!
Reading has always been one of my greatest passions. However, with so much time devoted to other hobbies—like coding Hobbyverse—I’ve found myself reading less and less. With this new addition, I’m hopeful that Hobbyverse will not only encourage our users to rediscover their love of books but also give me the motivation to carve out more time to read. Plus, I can’t wait to unlock some of the shiny new reading achievements I’ve added!
Add Books to Your Digital Library
Discover the incredible collection at Open Library and easily add your favorite books to your digital library in Hobbyverse. Whether you’re into classics or modern bestsellers, it’s never been easier to start building your personal reading collection.
Choose Your Perfect Book Cover
For the first time, Hobbyverse lets you personalize your digital library by selecting the cover image for your books. If Open Library provides multiple cover options, you can pick the one that speaks to you the most. Showcase your unique library in style!
Track your Reading Progress
Stay on top of your reading goals by recording the number of pages you’ve read during each session. Hobbyverse fetches page count data directly from Open Library, so you can seamlessly track your progress and see just how far you’ve come. If Open Library doesn’t provide a page count for your book, we’ll default it to 100 pages, allowing you to track your progress like a percentage.
Earn Experience
As with every hobby in Hobbyverse, XP is earned differently for Reading. For every page you read, you’ll gain 2 XP, making every page you complete a step toward leveling up your reading hobby and earning some hobby coins!
